A new meaning to beauty can be given by foundation. One can actually look stunning with the right choice of foundation. Foundations, today are dermatologically tested, oil free and come with in built sunscreens. Thus they are sheer and easy to apply. And also do not clog pores or cause pimples or acne. Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and the right choices are:

Skin Type Foundation

Oily Skin Oil free (water based) foundation
Sensitive Skin Light foundation with high water content

Choosing the Right Foundation
Look for textures that are oil free and offer sun protection as well

Blend a small amount on your cheek and look in the mirror in daylight. If you can hardly see the foundation then it is the colour for you. The right colour always blends with your skin colour. Sometimes one has to blend two foundations and get the right colour. Since Bangladeshi skin is usually dark with yellow under tones one should avoid any base that looks pink or orange. There are numerous shades in the market suitable to Bangladeshi skin like resetint beige, blush beige, soft bisque, peanut, almond, fudge and ivory rose shades.
Fair skin: Blues and pink tint look good as it can even give a pink blush to a pale complexion.
Medium skin: pearly shades can look good. Combined with earth shades of lipstick, they create a sparkling effect.
Dark Skin: less foundation looks good. Coppery gold with matte eye-makeup can create a sparkling effect. A dark complexion can look amazing wit has dusty pinks, mint green, light blues and other light shades. Traditional Indian beauties have awesome olive skin-a hue to die for. This complexion can look stunning with gold make-up.

Applying Foundation
First moisturize your skin.
Then dab foundation on your nose, forehead, cheeks and chin.
Starting with the centre of your face blend it carefully with a sponge onto your skin.
Remember to never apply too much of foundation especially under your eyes.
Rub off excess foundation with cotton or sponge.
If you have flaws then use a concealer and not too much of foundation. And always remove your foundation with a cleanser before going to bed.
The new look is light, sheer and natural. The trend is not to look made up but to simply give a lift to your complexion.
Make sure that the neck, back and waist (any part of the body that shows through your bridal ensemble) are all in the same skin tone.

Conceal with Concealers
One needs to have a good clear skin as a base to work on. All spots and blemishes have to be covered with a concealer to give a flawless look. You can achieve the look of a perfect oval face and chiseled nose by countering your make-up well.

Powder
You need to choose the same shade of face powder as of the foundation. The best option is to buy a "translucent" powder that will not affect the colour of the foundation. A powder adds a good finishing touch to your foundation. Loose powder is the best choice for you.

simply dust a little over the foundation to even your complexion
brush off excess powder
Put some powder on your fingers and rub it into you under-eye area, getting rid of any uneven skin color.

Blushing Bride
Bridal glow can be brought with a natural blusher. It should be applied under the cheekbones to give the face a sculpted and slim look. Use upwards strokes in a tear drop shape with the thinner part directed towards the top of the ears and wider part towards the nose. Blusher gives a perfect finish to make-up. Blend the blusher well so that there are no harsh edges.
To make a square face appear rounder, apply the blusher high on the cheekbone blending it smoothly and softly downwards.
To make a round face appear longer, blend the blusher from the cheekbones downwards, fading gently outwards.
To draw attention away from a double chin, apply blusher under the chin line to make a soft shadow and minimize the fullness.

Enigmatic Eyes
Eyes should always be dramatically made up. They should look captivating. Frosted and pale pastel shades can look good on dark skins. Use dark eye shadows with an upward angle to give more depth to the eyes. Eye shadows with twin shades are a rage today. Darker shades and softer looks are extremely popular. If you are using false lashes then brush coat of mascara over them to make them look a little natural. Apply mascara to the lower lashes only if there are no under-eye circles. To make eyes appear larger, apply two coats of mascara. Use a light shade of eyeshadow on the lid for a wide-eyed look.

Eyeliner can give the bride a glamorous look. Apply the liner about half a centimeter beyond the outer corner of the upper eyelid making a thick line in upward direction. For a soft look brush a little dark eye shadow over the eyeliner and be careful not to smudge the eyeliner.

Luscious Lips
Your lips are an important part of the entire look, almost as important as the eyes. It unites the other colours you have used and makes your face come alive.

Rub a little moisturizer on the lips.
Apply a little foundation on the lips.
Line your lips with a lipliner a shade darker than the lipstick you've chosen and then fill in the lipstick with a brush
Take an ice cube, and rub it all over the lips for a minute to set the lipstick.
Blot excess with a tissue and powder with pressed powder. This will help your lipstick last longer.

Hair's to your Face
An oval face is the best feature as it can carry any hairstyle. If one has different face shape then make-up can help create an illusion of an oval face.
If the forehead is small then a high puff in the front looks best.
If the forehead is big then a side parting and sideways puff look best. Flower Power
Flowers give graceful and truly feminine look to the bride. For a long and thin neck mogra or chameli gairas are arranged in such a way so as to create on effect of fullness. If the neck is thick, the gaira strings are aesthetically arranged to give a lean, slim look.
If the bride has short hair then a switch decorated with fresh flowers is the best bet. Flowers are always coordinated with the bride's dress.

The Traditional Bride
The traditional Bangladeshi image of a wedding is that of a bejeweled, bedecked with flowers, shimmering in traditional clothes, shy girl. But this is changing as weddings are today more of a fashion statement and a projection of the status you hold. Thus the style and dress of the modern day bride and groom have been completely revamped. From the traditional red ghagra or saree to designer clothes that have a magical mix of the old and the new. Even jewellery has more modern, hi-tech designs and is coordinated with cloths and make-up.

The modern bride has her entire dress and make-up according to the season and colours in vogue. Light makeup and minimal jewellery is accentuated with a simple and neat hair-do. The wedding dress is in fabrics like sequined chiffons, georgettes and crepes, style is a blend of the trendy and tradition. The make-up and wedding dress, compliment each other.

Wedding Trousseau
The colours have shifted from reds maroons to lighter shades such as fawn, mehndi green, moss green, turquoise, ivory, subtle hues of pinks and oranges and even blue, purple and brown. What attracts the consumers is golden and silver lehengas with an interplay of textures and embroideries to create the immortal look. A wedding is the most formal and significant occasion in Bangladesh and the wedding dress is the mainstay of this event.

Brides go in for designer collections that have a traditional classicism about them and yet they are contemporary in their style. Old antiquated embroideries stitched onto to the finest fabrics in brilliant and subtle shades-festive yet underplayed are the forte of Bangladeshi designers. Absolutely hypnotizing outfits in unconventional shades such as green, purple, peach, khaki and blue embellished with golden and silver embroidery defy all diktats of convention and create a matrix of enchanting patterns.
