About Wedding

Today's Wedding

A wedding is a ceremony which celebrates the beginning of a marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. In some countries, cultures and religions, the actual act of marriage begins during the wedding ceremony. In others, the legal act of marriage occurs at the time of signing a marriage license or other legal document, and the wedding is then an opportunity to perform a traditional ceremony and celebrate with friends and family. Let's look at some of the ways the urban wedding has changed in the last ten years.

Today’s Wedding Shopping
Dish culture has changed our lifestyle. Now, we can see and learn different cultures and their costumes. It has changed our shopping style also. Now we go to other countries to shop. Besides, there are huge shopping malls today that have helped us a lot by providing us luxurious foreign goods. So, we can buy these things from our country. So you can skip the queue for visa and get all your shopping done here.

Weddings these days mean big business! There are plenty of outlets that bring out a complete bridal wear line every year. Men's fashion has also become exceptional. Today's designers are experimenting with new looks, new cuts, and new colors. Today's couples are color coordinated, bold and beautiful. Another interesting development in the shopping scene is the trend for small outlets offering personalized accessories. Entrepreneurs have woken up to the endless demand for something new and unique and thus providing us a new era.

Today’s Wedding Venue
Today’s venues have become stylish with works of art, with lights, drapes, flowers etc. Hotels and community centers have become the new venue in place of the home of the bride or one of her relatives. Clubs, restaurants and any large space are now becoming venues. These hotels and community centers have their own in-house decorators and catering services. Decorators are hired for designing set. All these have added extra features with new looks and style.

Today’s Wedding Event
The Bangladeshi Muslim wedding has traditionally had four ceremonies: the two holuds, the akht/biye, and the walima. There are variations also. In some cases, the bride has a mehendi ceremony instead of the holud or there's the joint holud. Entertainment at weddings has also changed dramatically. Professional bands and choreographed performances replaced the old parodies and songs. And these are usually performed by every member. These events usually take place during the holuds. Thus today’s wedding events are more colorful, attractive and full of excitement.
